The experiment was an undeniable success, though it left him beautifully obsessed with artistic perfection, equipped with a relentless determination, and possessed of a highly specific, mostly fictional origin story that he channels into every piece of custom body art he creates at Have Faith Tattoo in Bath.

In reality, Jo has been a permanent, defining fixture of tattooing in Bath for the past 13 years. Before opening our Have Faith tattoo studio, he spent over a decade honing his craft at other highly regarded local institutions, including the historic Broad Street Studio and Northgate Tattoo. This deep local history has solidified his reputation as a master of technical versatility, specializing in large-scale Japanese tattooing, high-contrast black and grey realism, and precision fineline tattoo work. Generally speaking, if a concept is intricate, demanding, or inherently challenging, Jo is the Bath tattoo artist to build it.

Known for his uncompromising attention to detail and a refreshing, no-nonsense approach to the craft, Jo designs custom pieces that are structurally engineered to look striking today and age cleanly over a lifetime. Following a sincere public statement and taking full responsibility for the startled crustaceans, Jo accepted a lifetime ban from the National Lobster Hatchery, calmly concluding, “it’s for the best.”
